Civil justice is the pursuit of accountability and protection through law: courts, sentencing, and public standards that restrain harm.
It matters because abuse, exploitation, and violence are not only private failures; they destroy lives and corrupt communities.
Revenge seeks to destroy. Civil justice seeks to restrain wrongdoing, name what happened, and protect the vulnerable. It is imperfect, but it is a vital expression of responsibility in public life.
Forgiveness can be offered even while consequences remain. Grace does not cancel truth. It refuses to let evil have the last word.
If you are looking to take these truths from your head to your heart—especially as we navigate the heavy realities of pain, trauma, and trying to live faithfully in a broken world—I want to invite you to explore my book, Forgiveness. Together, we look closely at one of the most challenging yet profoundly restorative commands of Jesus, discovering how it is possible to find healing and hope even when it feels impossible.
