Moral relativism sounds tolerant at first, which is why it can be so attractive. In other words, this is not only a church word; it is a human word.

It says right and wrong depend mainly on personal feeling or cultural location rather than moral truth.

When Morality Becomes Personal Preference

The problem appears when real harm is done. If morality is only preference, outrage at cruelty becomes hard to justify in any lasting way.

Why This Matters for Justice

Christian faith insists that people have real worth and actions have real moral weight. That gives us a stronger basis for naming evil, seeking repentance, and pursuing repair.

I want this to be practical theology, not shelf theology. The point is not to sound clever; the point is to help real people think clearly, heal honestly, and follow Jesus faithfully in a complicated world.

Where Theology Meets Real Life

If you are looking to take these truths from your head to your heart—especially as we navigate the heavy realities of pain, trauma, and trying to live faithfully in a broken world—I want to invite you to explore my book, Forgiveness. Together, we look closely at one of the most challenging yet profoundly restorative commands of Jesus, discovering how it is possible to find healing and hope even when it feels impossible.
