Mutual collaborative stewardship is the idea that men and women are meant to carry responsibility together: to lead, build, discern, and serve as partners rather than competitors.

It pushes back on the assumption that thriving requires one sex to dominate the other. Instead, it argues that we do our best when we do not go rogue, but come together.

Why It Matters in a Power-Obsessed Age

When culture teaches us to seize control, collaboration can look weak. But in the kingdom of God, leadership is measured by love, sacrifice, and the willingness to seek the good of others.

Strength Without Rivalry

Mutuality does not mean sameness. It means refusing rivalry. It means honoring difference without turning it into a reason to police, limit, or fear one another.

What to Practice

Look for shared decision-making, shared responsibility, and shared courage. Ask whether your community is forming people into servants or into status-seekers.

Where Theology Meets Real Life

If you are looking to take these truths from your head to your heart—especially as we navigate the heavy realities of pain, trauma, and trying to live faithfully in a broken world—I want to invite you to explore my book, Forgiveness. Together, we look closely at one of the most challenging yet profoundly restorative commands of Jesus, discovering how it is possible to find healing and hope even when it feels impossible.
