Collaborative stewardship is the practice of carrying responsibility together: leading with humility, sharing power, and building trust rather than rivalry.
It recognizes that the Christian story calls us away from the will to power and toward the way of service, truth, and love.
Collaboration collapses when fear takes over: when we assume disagreement is threat, when we treat leadership as domination, or when we flatten people into stereotypes.
The better pattern is courageous honesty with gentleness and respect, and a willingness to learn from one another without surrendering conviction.
It looks like shared ownership, shared responsibility, and a culture where people can do hard things without being shamed or controlled.
If you are looking to take these truths from your head to your heart—especially as we navigate the heavy realities of pain, trauma, and trying to live faithfully in a broken world—I want to invite you to explore my book, Forgiveness. Together, we look closely at one of the most challenging yet profoundly restorative commands of Jesus, discovering how it is possible to find healing and hope even when it feels impossible.
